At the heart of its innovation is the AI Teacher, which simulates realistic, scenario-based conversations with learners, helping them build confidence and fluency through daily interaction. Most language learning platforms focus on listening and repetition, not conversation. Learners practice alone, receive delayed feedback, and struggle to stay motivated. At the same time, managing speech recognition, translation, scoring, and analytics across multiple systems create significant technical complexity and increase operational overhead, slowing product innovation.
EZAI needed a unified, real-time platform that could deliver fluid voice interaction, instant feedback, and intelligent tutoring - without compromising scalability or development speed. Without such a solution, EZAI risked declining user engagement, lower retention rates, and an inability to differentiate in an increasingly competitive edtech market.

EZAI partnered with Agora to build a scalable, real-time conversational AI platform by combining Agora’s global real-time engagement network with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Learner voice interactions were transmitted through Agora’s Software-Defined Real-Time Network (SDRTN®), ensuring ultra-low latency and high reliability. Based on interaction requirements, relevant audio streams were selectively routed to AWS, where they were processed within designated regions using Elastic Load Balancing to maintain performance and availability.
Within AWS, conversational workloads were managed inside a secure Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC). Amazon EC2 instances hosted Agora’s Conversational AI Engine, enabling real-time audio enhancement, session orchestration, and interaction management. This architecture allowed EZAI to dynamically scale resources based on demand while maintaining a stable learning experience.
The conversational AI architecture executed a chained inference pipeline (speech-to-text → language understanding → text-to-speech), enabling continuous, real-time interaction between learners and the AI Teacher, powered by Amazon Bedrock Nova for real-time language understanding. Processed responses were streamed back through Agora’s network, completing a seamless conversational loop for immersive language learning at scale.

By combining Agora’s low-latency delivery with Amazon Bedrock-powered inference and AWS-based scalable processing, EZAI addressed key challenges around delayed feedback, low engagement, and fragmented infrastructure, enabling learners to receive instant, contextual responses in real time.
This shift delivered measurable improvements in both user engagement and system performance. While Agora ensured seamless, real-time interaction, AWS infrastructure — including Amazon EC2, Amazon VPC, Elastic Load Balancing, and Amazon Bedrock—provided the scalability and reliability required to handle growing user demand. This allowed EZAI to maintain consistent performance across regions while supporting increased concurrency without degradation in experience.
